I had three miscarriages in the past two years, so she is the closest thing I can ever imagine to having a baby. I adore her and there are times I think I would kill to keep her safe, much like a mother would. It scares me. Am I wrong to feel this way?

I don't recall seeing anything in the Bible about people having affection for animals being ok or sinful.

Your thoughts?

I was that way for many years. It took us 15 years to have a baby. I am still a dog lover, but the dog is now second place to my son. I think it's OK to love your dog. I do not believe that animals have souls, but I don't think there's anything wrong with what you're describing.

And, I'm very sorry for your miscarriages. I had one. I believe we will see our children in Heaven.

We all need somewhere to attach our emotions. The bond between a human and a dog can be very fulfilling, and the love is returned. I am sorry you had miscarriages. I can't answer as a Christian because I'm not one, but what religion would condemn someone for heartfelt, emotional attachment?

I think you are ok...not even a sparrow falls from the sky without the notice of God. I do however think maybe you should get some counseling to deal with your grief...it may help you to deal with everything that has happened to you.

Just make sure you don't love it in a sexual way... Leviticus 20:15-16 says you should be put to death for that.

As long as that love does not replace your love for God, it's all good, but do remember that animals are not people.

No, I don't think so. Right and wrong is determined by God. If you can't find the answer in the bible, ask him.

Absolutely okay to love your pet so much. Just remember...it's okay to love your pets, just don't LOVE your pets. Repeat after me...us...them...us...them...us...them.
