Because your religion has done it to other people for thousands of years....You can't accept, Islam, Buddism, Hindu's, Pagans and even your own branches of Christianity fight, Catholics, protestants. What goes around comes around. The thing you really don't understand is that as a Christian....if you really believe that Christianity is the only way then you are saying that all other religions are wrong and have no substance. If you say that other people can believe what they want then you are saying that you don't 100 percent believe what you believe. because they can't be right....do you get what im saying?

I try to be respectfull in every way possible when talking about Christianity or other religion for that matter. I am agnostic, I don't know the "truth" because for me, there is no real proof. Therefore, I cannot believe in any religion as I don't feel the calling for a god neither I want to. I think there must be something stronger than humans, because obviously, the universe came from something, but I personally don't think that it was a christian god. I have family and friends who are christian, muslims, buddishts, catholic,agnostic... and i don't see any difference on the normal and ethic things they do on the everyday life. I also feel like some people don't respect my beliefs just because i don't believe in a god, but hey what can i do? I have a really succesful and happy life and I am thankfull of everything I have and achieve the way I believe and I am. I hope I answered your question.

I do not hate Christians, I hate some of the actions taken by Christians to force their faith on others. They will beat, kill, threaten, rape, all in the name of their god and it's OK in their eyes. I know not all Christians have done this. However how many Christians are afraid to open a Christian book store? AS far AS I know NONE! How many Pagans fear they'll be run out of town, beaten, protested against, or vandalized if the open a pagan store? Most Pagans are. Why should I live in fear for wearing a pentacle, while Christians walk around with crosses and come to my home to "save me". If I went door to door and asked to believe in the god and goddess I would have the cops called. So why is it wrong for people to have hard feelings towards Christians? Look at both sides and you may see a bigger picture. BTW I am a Witch and proud of it. Unfortunately I can't tell my coworkers or I'll loose my job. BB Sdw

I'll try to be mature and honest. Just like christians don't like being told there god is not real, atheists/agnostics don't like being told that what they believe in is false. Although there are some people on these boards who are belligerent, most people just seem to be reacting to people asking basically rhetorical questions which claim that there own god is real and everyone else is wrong. I know that the bible claims that you have to spread the word about christianity but it also states that you should live and let live. Lets have more of the latter and less of the former.

Because your God is an Arab Jew. And you all make him into a blonde haired blue eyed Father, son, and Holy Spririt. And you can not just pick one Holy Book from God, you have to follow RSV or KJV, or NIV or NASB, or NLT, or the American Standart Version, or the Message, shall I continue. And in these VERSIONS- it is not a matter of simple translation - but Versions.... changes, deletions, additions, some with entire books missing- ripped out, discarded....
Because some of you believe that an Arab Jew is God. God in three- Three is one. Father son holy spirit is ONE It's THREE but it's really ONE....
Some of you say Jesus is the SON of God- His only Begotten son.... his only son which was MADE by God- the son made by the Holy Spirit 'Overtaking' the virgin Mary...

Because you always quote "the only way to the father is through me..." and you say if people dont accept Christ as their Lord and Savior they will go to Hell... but as you say these things you do not include the other sayings of Jesus which come from the bible, the ones who say "I of my own self can do NOTHING" and the ones which go on to explain followers of Christ telling Christ
"Look what I have done for you IN YOUR NAME--- I have followed you, my lord, my Christ....."
and Christ says "GET AWAY FROM ME.. I DO NOT KNOW YOU"
So..... these are only a few reasons why. From my point of view> And Christians always say when they look down upon other religoins "You just dont want to hear the truth"
So I am ready for all the thumbs down. Because I know that the truth Hurts.

By forcing your belief on others, you are commiting and act of extreme violence. And that act of extreme violence is reciprocated by other acts of extreme violence toward both you and others like you.

You may want to read the bible itself and not rely upon the word of the evangelists, the priests (who should not exist according to the bible), and the pope (another one that should not exist according to the bible).

When you finally realize that you should not be in church (against the bible too), and should instead be doing all this in secret you will have finally begun to find what is really in the bible.

Study the bible itself. There are instructions in there to ferret out the Truth that exists within the bible and separate it from what man has put into the the bible to confound and confuse people and keep them from the Truth.

I don't hate Christianity - I respect all religions. All that I ask in return is that other religions respect my beliefs.

My beliefs are that there is no God and that when you die you just rot, that there is no heaven, hell, afterlife, devil or God. I believe that man evolved from a common ancestor that we share with modern-day apes.

I believe that the Bible and other religious books were written by men, not by God, and that unfortunately some men use what is written in those books to manipulate others but despite that the vast majority of people who follow a religious path are good and well-meaning.

IF you can respect my beliefs without telling me I'm a sinner, misguided, "a lost soul" or that I'm going to burn in hell (like I'm really concerned about burning in a place I don't believe exists) then in turn I will show your religion respect as well.

Respect is a two-way street.

Because you don't keep it YOUR belief, as you said:
"As chrisitans we follow the bible and it says that we have to talk to the lost souls out there".

Non christians don't see themselves as lost. It's funny that you want us to respect your beliefs (which I do, I never try to turn anyone away from their religion) but you won't extend the same courtesy to us and leave us alone already!

If you had even the slightest understanding of how prejudiced Christians are towards atheists, and how it affects our lives every minute of every single day, then you wouldn't ask this question.

If you really want to know... try telling some folks around you that you are an atheist some time. Try it for a week, and see what happens.

But the problem is that Christians have a hard time keeping their beliefs to themselves. They feel a requirment to go out and not just share their beliefs but to force them upon anyone else to has different beliefs.

This not only creates a detest of Christians, but a detest among Christians who claim to be the only Christians based upon their specific denominatiosn views on Bible, Baptism etc. over the views of other denominations....

For all the love Christians claim to have, they can shovel out a lot of hate.
