Depend on the value of the item stolen, and if this is his first offense, he could get probation with community service.

Sounds like retail fraud. It would depend on the amount of the product stolen. Probably looking at probation and fines for a first time offender. The worst would also depend on what the cost of the item(s). If its in the higher range he may also look at a few months in jail. Depends on the judge. He may also end up being sued by the company he stole from if the items were of great value.

Depending on where you are most states unless this is dealing with a large amount of money, he will probably have a misdemeanor, I doubt very seriously it would be a felony unless like I stated the amount makes it a felony, so he'll probably get, probation/probation fees, community service, fines, fees and court cost, maybe ordered to pay restitution, he shouldn't be looking at a hard punishment, or a long sentence, but this will be the beginning and hopefully the end of his criminal record, don't worry he should be out and around, maybe you can help influence him in another direction.....

It would depend on the value of the items. He is guilty of a few crimes. Stealing, and likely fraud. Then there is the selling, selling stolen property is a seperate offense.

You need to make yourself some better friends.

It depends on the cost of the items.

If the cost of the items total over 1000 dollars, that is grand theft.
up to five years in prison.

If it is under 1000 dollars, 6 months to two years,.

Thank you very much, while you're up!

It really depends on the state you live in. Is the buddy a minor? What did he steal? Where are you from?
