I saw a neat candy cane wreath on Better Homes and Gardens website. You glue mini candy canes on a wreath every which way and add small red ornaments and a big striped/red ribbon. I haven't tried it yet, but the only difference I'd do is spray the wreath at the end with some clear sealant spray. The photo they have on the website is really cute and my kids said it looks fun to make too! I also bought come clear glass ornaments at a hobby shop. You can drip paint inside the ornament and turn it all around to make original, one of a kind ornaments. Also threre's a kit where you can make them look like leaded glass too! They say you can do these ornaments with beads, glitter, paint, or small combination of objects inside them! Good Luck

You can make a beaded curtain for a room divider out of a combination of glass and paper beads. You can make paper beads out of magazine pages or gift wrap paper. Cut triangles about 12" long with a 1" base. Start rolling the triangle around a toothpick at the base and when you are about 1" from the end, apply some white glue to the tip and finish rolling. To seal, coat the entire bead with a thin coat of white glue and let dry. After it is completely dry, twist slightly to remove from the toothpick. In the 60s paper beaded curtains were a popular craft and room accessory. The glass beads would give the curtain some needed extra weight. To string, use fishing line or waxed floss attached to a wooden dowel. Two of these curtains, one on each side of your bed makes it a very cozy nook.

Buy 3 large posters at www.allposters.com. Make sure they are the same size. Frame them with 3 off-the-shelf black frames from the craft store (Michaels, for example) and hand them in your living room. Look up vintage travel posters, national park prints, or something else you like. You are sure to find inexpensive posters you'll love and they will set the stage for your other decorations. Hang all 3 on one wall -- it makes a nice statement.
