I am trying to explain the swelling of my gums and rear mouth tissue after drinking coffee or eating fruit sometimes. My teeth will touch this expanded tissue sometimes and drag along it to create sores? What would be causing this? Coffee? Minerals in foods? Water? Almost like I want to chew the sides of my gums when this happens. They feel a little numb too, not excessive pain but just in the way. It goes away after a while. Could this bee from dental filling material interacting with my gums? Viruses going around? Flu shot?

what you are describing sounds quite like gingival hypertrophy, try to look up this term on webmd.com, mayoclinic.com, familydoctor.org or just yahoo or google. either way do see a doctor for this, it needs evaluation and treatment, good luck
