The punishment for all sin is death. Romans 6:23. Anyone who successfully commmits suicide then has, at least technically, already paid for the sin.
God is love and forgiving. He may see what's in the heart of those who commited suicide, but we can't. This at least offers the hope of for giveness and resurrection to those who have committed suicide.
Still, suicide is murder and any succesful suicide has no chance of seeking forgiveness until they are resurrected. It seems, though, more positive than negative.

I think so, yes, God is love, and forgiveness,he knows what is in peoples heart and what they have had to cope with. I was suicidal after 11 years of abuse by my ex (and 7 years by my father as a child)I had a nervous breakdown, and was hospitalised for 3 months on suicide watch, i was devestated, i used to beg God to give my life to someone that was dieing and didn't want to, the word heartbroken does not even beginning to sum up how i was, the thought of my son did not even help in the end as i thought he would be better off without me, my ex even told my to do it as i was no use to anyone, people think of this as a way out, to end the unbearable pain, it is not selfish as people think, it is seeking a end to the guilt, pain, and heartbreak, of unbearable amount, people that think it is selfish have never been that low, also illness has a effect, depression is still every misunderstood. After the 3 months in hospital i was just strong enough to divorce my ex and slowly rebuild my and my sons life, I would advise anyone beg for help again, and again and again, dont give up, however tempting that might be, I thank God that 2 years on i have met and married the most wonderful man alive, he loves me as much as i love him.(I said i would never marry again!) we are now happy as a family, life is not perfect, it still has problems, which we deal with together, 25 years it has taken me to find something/one to live for, and it was worth the wait and all the pain. But i still think that God (Jehovah) forgives the ones that havent been able to get help, and are sleeping in death until a better time.

I sure hope so. because a god who punishes a human being, for not being able to get through a life, in an imperfect world (some say) he, she or it created, cannot be a god of compassion, therefore must be an evil deity or the (demiurge) false god.
If Jesus really did get Judas ( as the Gospels of Judas imply) to hand him over to the Roman authorities, then Jesus was asking Judas, to be an accomplice in his own suicide, even if the faithful believe he died for their sins.
I lost someone very dear to me through suicide, they just couldn't make it through the rest of their life.
This life can be the only hell there is,alternatively one may on occasions glimpse heaven on earth, before some religious Zealot or bigot decides to fracture such a fragile vision, as they wantonly tear flesh away from fracture bone, ( The choice is in all our own hands) .
If the faithful of any religion hold such views upon such vulnerable, lonely, frightened people, then they and their blasted god, can go to hell, for it would be justly deserved.
If there is a god, then the divine spirit must be more enlightened than any human being, if I a mere mortal can find overwhelming compassion in my heart , for the desperate sucide, then I would expect the Divine spirit to have compassion A million times more.
But here, we are only talking of sucides which take their own lives, not thoses who take other people with them, as in Suicide bombers, for they are not liberators nor martyrs , but calculating murderers.
In the words of Ghandi (A great noble man indeed) "An eye for an eye makes everyone blind", their can be no excuse for murdering civilians for what ever cause, as two wrongs never make a right.

want to ask for to excuses… in case that the translation for the ENGLISH IS MISSED, therefore I am BRAZILIAN
No versicle of the bible does not exist affirming that who commits the suicide loses the salvation! What it exists is only one swaggerer of conviction of the soul after the suicide, after all of accounts who commits the suicide generally is with full the conturbado heart… of until perhaps drugged hatred or! E the bible AFFIRMS that the person who if finds in these conditions will lose the salvation! However the meaning of word SUICIDIO, wants to say only the fact to take off the proper life! When a person BUSH somebody, later if repents and asks for to the pardon the God…. it pardons! But as a person can ask for to pardon the God after committing a suicide? Impossible! In the sacred bible a man exists who took off the proper life and gained the salvation! The name of it was Sansão! At the moment where it held them pillars of the temple where if it found and it cried out “DIE I WITH the FILISTEUS”. It wise person who would go to die. That is, it took off the proper life! However the sansão faith converted a suicide into sacrifice of the proper life in favor of the people of ISRAEL! E the test that Sansão was saved consists of the fact where God took care of its finishes asked for, that he was to have granted forces supernatural to kill at that moment thousand of enemies.

God says we shouldn't kill anyone (including ourself) and if, right after we commit the sin of suicide, we are already dead, how can we ask God for forgiveness, so no i don't think He does, though I am not God, and I don't know everyone's heart or reason, so i will not be the judge, but that's just what I think.

I think they are forgiven - but they are sent back. If we are all here to learn something then this must mean suicide is like cheating at a computer game - you really did not win the game you just tried a short cut.
Ofcource there might be people out there who are mentally ill and when they kill themselves it might be that they are trying to teach us something with their death.Like how we should take better care of our ill. Those people who "cant help it" are forgiven as they were sent to do so and teach us.
How does that sound?

When you leave your physical body, the body dies. But you still live. Everyone lives in God, but some don't realize this.
You will still be able to identify yourself just as when you're in the physical body. But of course, you will be subjected to the laws of the astral world. The in-between world between the Causal world (Karam Khand) and the Physical World.
The astral world is much larger than the physical. Method of travel is by emotional power. When you feel happy, you automatically travel to be in the company of beings who find this place worth living in.

I have always been taught that people who take their own lives go to hell. But I beleive that would depend on the person's state of mind when they did this awful thing. Yes I beleive with all my heart that we have a kind and loving god and he forgives this act.

God forgives everyone who asks. No matter what.
I think that the god I was taught is compassionate. He knows this life is so hard. . . sometimes people give up. They shouldn't, and it's wrong (because it is second-guessing His plan for you - and shows lack of trust in Him), but He forgives all our mistakes if we understand we were wrong and ask. Nothing is too big.

The logic runs like this:
Taking the life of a person (including yourself) is a mortal sin. (You burn in the eternal fires of hell etc..)
You can receive absolution if you ask for it, and repent your sins.
Taking your own life means you can't repent the sin of taking your own life because you're not around to do the repenting, you're already getting good and toasty in the firey pit.
I guess that if it took a long enough time for you to die, you could do the whole repenting / absolution thing before you finally carked it. Maybe it's all a matter of..... timing.
Good luck.
