You're right that this shouldn't be allowed for the reason you give. People sometimes forget and need to be reminded. I've done it myself and meant no harm. Of course, if it's truly done out of stubbornness or lack of respect, then someone in authority needs to speak to the person, insist that they obey the rules, and ban them from the sanctuary if they won't comply.

Sounds like they were trying to do something nice. And it only stains if you spill it and leave it. A little Shout will help in the wash.

the next thing people will do is stop into McDonald's or Wendy's and get a take out breakfast to go and bring it to Church to eat it while services are going on. Scandalous
