Other translations say "according to what they have done" or "according to their deeds".

What does "works" or "deeds" mean to you?

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.

"If you have worshipped him the way he wants to be worshipped. "

That's right... worship God in the way HE wants to be worshipped. Worship how HE told us to worship.

To do EVERYTHING He told us to do... not just the parts we like and/or understand.

I believe each person will give an ccount of their lives.

In Romans 14 & 2 Corinthians 5 Paul talks of believers standing before the "judgment seat of Christ", giving account of the deeds done in these bodies.

Judgment comes to each one of us, believer or non-believer. Only those who have lived for Christ, who have been cloaked in His righteousness, will not wither in that day.

God bless!!

They will be judged according to how they have lived.. Since they would not be at the great white throne judgment if they were not guilty, it is a time of showing each person exactly what they did wrong and why. They will be judged out of the books (i take to be the 66 books of the bible) and their names will not be found in the book of life, so they will be escorted to the lake of fire.
There will be no escaping from this judgment.

I love that passage. For me, it means what you have left in the world. Specifically, did you leave pain and misery in your wake, treading carelessly upon the feelings and needs of others? Or did you leave some lives better because they came into contact with you?

Life is difficult for the best of us: if we can ease it in any little way, for even just one day, for another person - that counts for God. To know on your deathbed that some lived more easily because you were there - that is a successful life, and what we will be judged for. That's what that passage is talking about.

Means the works they have done after they are saved. Works is spreading the word of God. Souls you lead to the Lord. Giving to those in need. Giving of yourself so that you can be used for God's glory. Thats the things your judged on. I am sure there is more.

Laborers in the field in the time of harvest.

Christ is returning for fruit that is mature.

Trees that are unfruitful are cut down and cast into the fire.

"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink. I was a stranger and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

The bible contradicts itself over and over again!

I guess if a person can overlook the sadistic child murdering nature of their bible God a very more screw ups can be ignored as well.
