let her cry. she has to learn to clean herself daily.

My Mom was like that too. Took a bath once a week whether she needed it or not. lol she never changed.

is your cousin from WV by any chance. just asking because that's where my Moms family is from. Is that cousin Debbi??? If so, we could be related.

Then you have to have another talk with her, and tell her the crying is not going to help, she need to handle the situation, and take care of her hygiene, tell her that she may not smell it, but if we can smell her, that other people can also, and that people can be cruel, and that you are doing this for her own good. Now take her to the Bath and Body shop, or even the dollar store, depending on your pocket book. If she does not like to take a bath, then take a shower, but it must be done daily!

if she starts to cry when you talk to her about this. maybe your going about it the wrong way.also if your ganging up on her all at once then of course she is going to cry.has anyone asked her why she hates to bath? maybe something happened to her while she was bathing and she has not been able to get over that.if your a female i know this may sound odd. but maybe you can offer to sit in the bath room with her while she takes a shower.as i said there might be something that went on with her, that makes her afraid to be alone in the bathroom.if offering to sit with her does not work.then maybe its time for your parents to tell her that she either showers on a regular basis or she will have to live else where.because if she is doing this just out of pure laziness. then you have no choice.you could also get on the net and get information about the bugs that live on your body and things like that.

Id rather see her cry and be offended and get it over with than allow it to continue. You aren't doing her any favors by allowing it to continue. Really do the right thing for your cousin and tell her that good hygiene is expected and appreciated by everyone. Point out to her that you'd rather tell her than have a stranger approach her which would be twice as humiliating. Maybe buy her some toiletries and perfume to kick off the new and improved her to a great smelling start.

She is probably used to her own smell and doesn't realize how bad it is. If its just BO and greasy hair and body funk...then tell her that your house is smelling and others have noticed the smell and to please bath/shower at least every other day. If she is overweight and has a smell it could be skin infections. She would need to see a doctor for some cream to put on it.

Either way....she needs to bath. You can't force her to, but maybe spraying room spray whenever you are around her would help her decide to on her own. Or wearing a dust mask over your mouth and nose when you are around her.

hun...tell her to get in that bath or she will have to move to her own place...set ground rules, give her a month to find a flat....be firm with her...hygiene is important....run her a bath and demand that she gets in it every day and to wash each morning when she gets up and before bed...she must really stink...sorry but there's no excuse for her not to wash...

Lack of hygiene is a sign of clinical depression. Get her to mental health services.
