This lady, who thought 16'' was a foot thought i was being mean, so i'm putting the case out to the jury...

If it was mean, i'll issue a full retraction...

If she is dumb, then back me up....

Does make you wonder what her driving is like if she thinks theres 16'' in a foot.... and her house must be built like the wacky warehouse...

Yeah, she's a dumbass. But it really is sad how little people know anymore. I was sitting with a group of 2nd graders the other day working on a project and I swear to god they didn't know how many days were in a week without counting them, how many months in a year, how many days in a year... SECOND GRADE!!! Isn't that kindergarten material? It really is frightening.

Not knowing something does not make them a dumbass. Maybe she did not recall how many inches in a foot, maybe she never has to use measurements..what does that have to do with her DRIVING, and what makes you think she built her own house?? You were wrong!! And your comment about driving and building her own home makes me wonder just how smart you are...?

we all cannot be good at everything. maybe she was just having an off day.

and just because you know more than her and think she is dumb doesn't mean you are the smartest guy out there. i am sure plenty of people think you are just as ignorant.

i would have been pissed if anyone called me a dumbass, unless they were joking around. it is just unnecessary. find a different way to express your thoughts.

I think the best way is to correct her since she doesn't know how many inches in one foot. Probably she was absent when the teacher is trying to explain it in the class or she was busy chatting to her classmate. It is a learning process to learn about other people shortcoming that makes life really interesting. But don't call her dumb *** just because you know the answer to it. For sure she knows things you don't know the answer either.

she lacked knowledge.
i think namecalling "dumbass" is not going to help anything.
you lack knowledge about some things.
you may hope or expect that 'everyone' knows this
but it is probably not a common part of her life.
I think it might be a bit on the arrogant side.
Think of teaching school to prevent this from happening.
Light a candle instead of cursing the darkness.
She of course is not a person who builds houses or she would have known this fact.
I would bet she knows things that you don't know.
For example from her profession.
And she might even be surprised you didn't know them.

It was mean only if you don't think you have never done or said anything stupid. You should have treated her the way you would like a stranger to treat YOU should you say something stupid (which, by the way, I'm sure you do on occasion).

Dear Mike,
Yes, and yes. She is ignorant. You are rude. In my extensive experience with 4 children, her solution may be easier than yours. She can learn, one presumes, but it may take a serious event for you to learn the power of words. Words can be devastating and have lifelong impact. Crow is best served warm. Apologize ASAP, and don't take the words you choose lightly.

Perhaps she isn't familiar with those units of measurement. Not all countries use the same system.
If she should have known than I guess you still didn't have to be mean about it. We all mess up sometimes.

Not at all, in fact, "dumbass" is putting a bit nicer than I would have. This person obviously BARELY passed 4th grade math class.

Yes probably. You should have just politely corrected her. Then laughed your **** off when you told all your mates about her!

Remember, manners cost f*ck all!
