I agree with you. How can they be so sure they know what god likes?
He may come back and decide all the hard-drinking, coke-snorting folks are just the ones for him.
He's probably fed up listening to all their dreary hymns and sermons.

Hey, don't worry. I am a Buddhist and we don't believe there is a God, and definitely not that you are going to be judged by one. Ok, yes, we do believe in karma, so if you do something bad it will come back to you in some way, but to think there's anything up there writing down your "sins" - no way. Be as good as you can to yourself and others and try not to do any harm and you'll be ok!
Can I also point out that the only reason people seem to be giving for this is that "it says so in the Bible". Well, hang on - the Bible is just a book and not everyone believes what's in it (it's hard to believe in God's word if you don't believe in God!) and even they don't do everything God/Jesus has said - when did you last see anyone gouge their own eye out, or cut off their arm because the Bible told them to!

Are you sure ? Don't take their word for it, see what God says. Read the Scriptures for they are God's word. His word is what counts. His word is authoritative.
They say : If you do not believe on the name of the only begotten Son of God then you are condemned already, John 3/18.
Christ further said, If any man hear my words and believe not, I judge him not, for I came not to judge the world but to save the world.
He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words hath one that judgeth him, the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day, John 12/47-48.
In a manner of speaking then, it is you who will judge yourself. You will have to agree, that is, you will see clearly the justice of God and your own refusal of the only way of salvation offered to you.
Such embittering anguish. What might have been. Salvation was so close, within your grasp but you let it through your fingers. How terrible ! Yet if you fly to God you may escape.
Forgive me for saying this, but you are a fool if you don't. It's like you have judged yourself already. Don't force God's hand that for justice's sake and to prevent defilement to heaven He has to consign you to everlasting punishment.
Be cleansed now, while there is yet time and opportunity.

Dear Doyle, I dont second guess Gods Intentions at all, we see the reality of Judgement day in His word. The BIble says there is coming a day in which God will Judge the world in righteousness. thats Not a misinterpetation, thats straight from Gods own word. so you should be concerned, let e explain by asking you a few questions................
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? and the BIble says "he who hates his brother is a Murderer." (1 John). Have you ever hated someone? Listen Carefully, If you have said "Yes" to these four questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer and murderer at heart. God didn’t see me as the “nice guy” I imagined myself to be… and he doesn’t see you that way either. Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, and If you will repent (turn from sin) and place your faith ad trust in Jesus, God will forive you of your sin and grant you thegift of everlasting life. Either its true or it isnt, the only way for you to find out is to take the first stepp and get on your knees and repent, if you dont and you die and find out what im saying is true, then you have none to blame but yourself.
God Bless

Just passing the message on. We have it on very good Authority. Everyone is going to be judged by God, so why should you be left out? Some of us have a "Get out of Hell free." card given to us by Jesus (however, if we don't live a life of love, forgiveness, mercy and justice, He might take our card away. He does not like people that take Him for granted or treat His sacrifice as if it was nothing, or claim Him as Lord and live immorally. He does forgive, but only if we change).

Because that is what they believe, rightly or wrongly. The religious scriptures disseminate information about what is considered right and wrong, and this is used by some people to judge others. Or to answer your question, they use this information to predict that you will be judged, as well as alluding to how that judgment will go.

God is going to judge everyone, not just you. That's why you need the saving grace of Christ. We Christians are going to be judged the same as you, but by accepting Christ, we have the "seal of the Lamb". That why it's called "being saved".

God is going to judge us all.
There is no negotiating with him. There is no lawyer that can reason with him.You cannot buy your way out of his judgment.
If you have even the slightest feeling that their just might be something to this, you better call out to Jesus. He is the only way.Repent to the lord, and your soul is saved.
He's waiting on you.

Dude! I have never said any such thing to you, I'm religious.
Did you mean just the Christians maybe?
There are a lot of folks on here who are religious and not Christian.
I would never presume to second guess the Divines intentions.

God is the judge of us all. If we are trying to do things His way, we will do well. If not, there is a risk that the judgement will be negative. You can choose which side of teh judgement you will be, by trying to do things God's way.

That is not second guessing Gods intentions my friend. As you call them, religious people tell you this because it says IN THE BIBLE that GOD will do this. Very simple!
