I am 18 years old, 5'6, and weight 165 pounds. I was told that I should weigh 128 pounds. What foods should I eat? And advice? I am going to walk once a day now. I usually drink about 4 sodas a day because my boyfriend works for Coca Cola...but I am going to stop drinking them completely now. What else should I do? Am I on the right track now??

You're off to a great start!

How long are you planning to walk? Shoot for 30 minutes at least, but 45-60 minutes is even better.

Watch your food portions, and try to follow a vegan diet as much as possible. (A lot of dairy products have fat as well as a good bit of sodium. Go for fat-free dairy when possible, if you want.) Go for whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and watch your sodium intake.

I would definitely recommend cutting out the soda or limit yourself to one a day.

Remember, to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you're consuming. If you look at a soda can, you'll see that they contain a significant amount of calories; those add up when you're drinking 4 a day.

Start with something easy, like walking for an hour and eventually work your way up to running or biking for a half hour with some lifting. Lifting is a good thing, I know alot of females stir clear of lifting, but it helps build the lean body mass; the more lean body mass, the more calories your body is going to burn.

Good luck--Train Hard.

Why don't you simply exercise more? food..everyone misses the most important aspect..exercise...if people would exercise more they would not have to worry so darn much about food...Are you really serious about doing this? We are talking about hard work. Putting down your little debbies, getting off your butt and not only going on a diet but EXERCISING!!! Even if you lose the weight it will come right back if you do not have the desire and motivation to not only look cute but to be healthy. it is going to take alot of inner strength I can assure you of that.

1.) eat 4-5 small meals a day

2.) drink lots of water

3.)exercise every day

4.) do not eat 4-6 hours before you sleep.

Good girl...lose the sodas! Even if you did nothing else, you'd lose about 15 lbs. by next December just by not drinking soda. Amazing, huh? Walk for an hour a day, if you can. And put your butt into it...I mean move! No strolling. No carbs after 5pm and up your lean meats and vegeatable intake. No fast food/junk food. Good luck!

Well now that your off soda your going to have extreme headaches. These will last a week or so but don't drink a soda. Your body gets headaches because it is used to all that sugar and caffeine. Try working out too because eating healthy will help but working out will really help slim you down quickly.
GOOD LUCK!

How should every girl be treated
As if without her you're not completed
And when her world is rocked with emotion
She should feel our unswaying devotion
And when she wants more and more
Still we'll hold that open door
And when her world is coming apart
She will know she still has our heart

I hope this get's the attention of the right girl so she will contact me too.

Well, you should start eating WHOLE grains, vegetables and fruits, these 3 are good source of carb, nutrients and fiber. Protein: skim or non-fat dairy products. Avoid red meat, prefer skinless poultry, fish, legumes, and nuts.
Also you need fat, choose monounsaturated (nuts, olive oil) and polyunsaturated fats (flax-seed, tuna). Avoid saturated and trans fats.
Do not use refined carbs or sugars.
This is the key to a healthy living. =)

i think you are too heavy.
try moving the foods you do eat more towards
fruit/veggies and whole grains.
brown rice, salad, etc.
stay away from processed foods (hot pockets, pizza etc.)
learn about calories and that is what creates weight.

That doesn't sound right. I think for your height you aren't to much off. I wouldn't worry so much about it. Just exercise and eat healthy.
