There was a male caller on the Muslimah Dilemma programme 3/12/06 at 19:00, he was saying "that this is a strange world, you 3 sisters sitting there are wearing hijab, but mothers from other muslim families take their girls to the mosque after school, their little girls wear little scarves but the mothers do not wear anything, no cover" this man is supressing and depressing women. what does he means by that? do men want to take women rights away? i thought we had rights to choose whether to wear it or not. why are men getting involved and telling women what to do?

does he think they weren't wearing any clothes?
why should they wear a head cover if they're only going to drop their
children to the mosque but not going in the mosque themselves?
if they do go in mosques themeselves i'm sure they cover their head.
how would you feel if someone says this to you and calls you an improper muslim?
what about the women who pray, give charity, fast, and do everything as a muslim should,
except they choose not to wear a hijab?

Well i am not a a girl, my mom and several women in my family don't wear the hijab, we were all born muslims, I must say the scholars usually agree that it is obligatory to wear the hijab when I initially thought that it wasn't obligatory.
