Need for office gift exchange and there is a spending limit of $20...Thanks!

P.S.
I see there are some saying I shouldn't give white or why white...it's because the name I pulled asked for a white *which was her first preference* or red wine. Thanks, all the answers have really helped!

Cambria.....it's an EXCELLENT wine that I order at business dinners all the time. It's pricey off of a wine list but you can pick it up at a liquor store for about $20.

The girl who likes the New Zealand wines has a great point, too. My favorite is the Savignon Blanc from "Cloudy Bay" but it's about $30.00 in the store.

First off, I would not offer a bottle of white as a gift. White's really don't have the distinction that red's do because there's just not that much on the upside.

I also wouldn't recommed spending more than about $10 - $15 on a bottle of white since there are plenty of very good white's in that range. The only reason to spend more is if it's for someone who really understands wines and is going to age it. Since most people open their white's within a few months of buying/receiving them, there's really no point to spend more money.

My specific recommendations would be a Pouilly Fuissé which is excellent French sure to please and can also be aged. I also really like Smoking Loon, which is a easy to drink Californian with a great label.

Earnest & Julio makes a line of wines called "Cafe," they come in a Zinfindel and Chardonnay. Both are great (but the Zinfindel is more of a red wine). usually around $6-12 a bottle depending on the size.

I like the new zealand wine, "white cloud". It's one of the sweeter whites i've had. It costs around 16 euro here in ireland.

Conundrum...a very good white blend that tastes like a wine twice the price.

Drop in your local wine shop, they are versed in the wines (mostly), and will probably be happy to help you pick one out.
