yes, if it harms a humans, which it does to a small degree, it would certainly harm a dogs.... it will be very very unpleasant for the dog, but i doubt it will hurt it so badly in the short term, if the alarm was constant, its horrible, but if not, he/she will learn very quickly :)

i think that 120 is enough to deafen for a sustained period.

in view which you cite a particular SPL parent i assume you examined it with an RTA or SPL meter, possibly at a opposition or the like. That grow to be probable on the windshield with the domicile windows closed, what you get in the drivers seat would be heavily much less OR extra, reckoning on many variables. Couple of innovations- in no way hear to loud song once you're below the effect of alcohol. era. Alcohol relaxes the muscle tissue throughout your physique, exceedingly the involuntary ones. The muscle tissue that often settlement to guard your eardrums from loud noises thoroughly relax and you're open to a pair severe harm that way. severe SPL would not particularly harm, it actual tickles somewhat- look ahead to that. "Blaring" song isn't risky, many times, even with the undeniable fact that that looks uncomfortable to take heed to. this is those bass and mid bass tones the place air rigidity is actual outfitted up that motives severe long term harm. i'm 40 seven, used to paintings on the flight deck of a provider on jets, used to play guitar in a storage band, and function continually had loud stereos in my autos. I competed in IASCA in the 'ninety's, qualified for the international finals in 'ninety 8. i can nevertheless hear ok, savour song, yet have severe tinnitus subject concerns. Being in a silent room is demanding as hell. All I hear is humming and ringing. I nevertheless have a pair of 15's in my truck and bump tho.

I would say it would harm anyone's ears. Must be an easier way of persuading your dog to leave the couch alone. We just say a sharp NO or DOWN and it works.

One way to test it out is to take your dog to the airport. Put him right next to a jet turbine going at full speed which is about 180dB. Just make sure you (the human) wear ear protection though.
