How long does it take? Does it hurt? Does it bleed alot? How long is the recovery period? Is it a minor procedure? Do the gums grow over? What other details can you tell me? Thanks!

If you're referring to a piece of bone that was left in your gum during an extraction, it's a lot like an extraction.
Sometimes the bone comes out on its own, though.
How long has it been since the extraction? If the bone is progressively moving out of the gum, I'd leave it alone and let it come out on it's own if it's not too painful.
If it's not coming out by itself or you would rather have the dentist take it out, it shouldn't take long at all.
He will generally make a small incision in the extraction area and use plier like instruments to pull the bone out or file instruments to file it down. You will be numb through the procedure. It shouldn't bleed as much as an extraction. It will heal up in a couple of days. It's a very minor procedure. Yes, the gums grow right back over the area.
I hope this helps!!
