It's very high in anti-oxidants, and definitely should not taste like blackcurrant! White tea is similar to green tea, in that it's undergone very little processing and no fermentation. But there is a noticable difference in taste. Most green teas have a distinctive 'grassy' taste to them, but white tea does not. The flavour is light and sweet.
You should steep white tea in water that is below the boiling point.
As for the name: the leaves are picked and harvested before the leaves open fully, when the buds are still covered by fine white hair. Hence the name.

It is similar to green tea, but it is a little less developed and has less of a grassy taste to it. It is very good for you also because of the low content of caffeine. It should also be steeped in water that is below the boiling point to get the full effect of flavor.

Yeh. It's good for you. Actually it's better. It's made from a baby tea leaf. Green tea's are full grown tea leaves. :)
