LOL....Chrstians,Catholics.We're all told that Jesus is the son of God.And we pray to him. We're also given the ten commandments, which also state thou shalt not make any graven images or worship idols. So why do we pray to Jesus and Mary, but not God?And why is there Crucifixes in every church?Isn't church supposed to be about God?

I wouldn't listen to the Pope if he said that for one reason-

I already think that.

We've also proved everyone's inability to answer hypothetical questions without getting all butt hurt about it.WAAAAAA...you're insulting my beliefs...waaaaa.Whatever.

You should rephrase your question, "Do you believe God or man?"

The office of the Pope has blood stains on it. Check out the history of the office of Pope. And in the Dark Ages millions of christians were killed because they were not Roman Catholic!

I've heard many christians say the office of Pope is the antichrist or One Pope will be the finial antichrist.
The speculation about the pope possibly being the antichrist revolves primarily around Revelation 17:9. Describing the evil end times system symbolized by a woman riding a beast, Revelation 17:9 declares, “This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.” In ancient times, the city of Rome was known as “the city on seven hills” because there are seven prominent hills that surround the city. So, whatever this verse is referring to, we can know that it is somehow connected with Rome. So, if the evil end times system is somehow connected to Rome – it does not take much thought to see a potential connection with the Roman Catholic Church, which is centered in Rome. Numerous passages in the Bible describe an “antichrist” who will lead the anti-God movement in the end times (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Revelation 13:5-8). So, if the end times evil world system is centered in Rome, and led by an individual – the pope is a likely candidate.
BUT:
1 John 4:3 tells us how to identify the spirit of the antichrist, "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." The current pope, Benedict XVI, acknowledges Jesus as being from God and Jesus as coming in the flesh (see 1 John 4:2). While we disagree with Pope Benedict XVI on numerous areas of Catholic doctrine, his view of the Person of Jesus Christ is very Biblical. Therefore, we do not believe that Pope Benedict XVI is the antichrist. We are not even willing to say that a future pope will be the antichrist. While we believe it is a possibility, the Bible does not give specific enough information for us to be dogmatic. A future pope very well may be the antichrist, or perhaps the antichrist’s false prophet (Revelation 13:11-17). If so, this future pope will be clearly identified by a denial of Jesus as coming in the flesh.

Assuming he'd say such a thing, he'd have to come up with quite a bit of evidence to prove his statement. People must understand that the Pope isn't all knowing. He seeks the advice of the College of Cardinals, bishops, priests, laypeople, etc.

And then, of course, there's that whole "ex cathedra" thing. But I won't get into that, considering that most non-Catholics have never heard the term before.

No, the Pope is only a man, he is not divine. besides, no in this time of the worlds history is the most likely that one day a Pope (I don';t think it will be Benedict though) will likely make a claim as such, as end days are near and a false prophet will appear with the anti-Christ.

Christians you say? By definition a "Christian" would be a follower of...Christ, The Risen One, The Alpha and The Omega, The Beginning and the End, The Lion of Judah, The Rose of Sharon, The Llliy of the Valley, The Autor of Life, The King of kings, The Lord of lords, The Ruler of the Universe who holds your next heartbeat in His hands. The pope...who's the pope?

i don't believe of you're asking a question the following, you're "begging the question" you ask a question then supply us solutions instead. a million. you're saying there is more desirable than one replica (version of the bible) and anticipate they're saying a range of of issues, turning out to be a faux "predicament". A version might want to be a literal translation or a paraphrase. the same way I absolutely have 4 variations of the Koran, because they're all translations or paraphrases, even if the words used might want to nicely be different they offer the same message 2. You let us know that folk replaced the bible as they needed, giving the impact that the bible is untrustworthy and for this reason there is more desirable than one (version) and for this reason you don't understand if Jesus is God or God's son. This purely exhibits you've preconceived recommendations about the bible, yet don't understand the bible itself or it is history. you may study the same message contained in the bible in any version. Even at present with dozens of variations all of them say the same. So in answer for your question, convinced, there are words that say Jesus is God and that he's the Son of God. The predicament is brought about with the aid of your recommendations about of the bible and under no circumstances because Jesus is both God and Son of God.

Change their minds about what? Whether or not Jesus is the son of God or whether or not you should follow the teachings of the Vatican?

If you are referring to whether or not you should follow the teachings of the Vatican, then if the Pope were to say something that ridiculous I am sure there would be an uprising of Catholics who would call for a resignation of the Pope.

That is stupid. Those kinds of theories can be made up about anything to prove anything but in reality they prove nothing.
Suppose Jesus came to earth and preformed miracles for you in person--would the atheists believe then?
Suppose God showed up in your kitchen and told you Catholicism was the right way to go--would you change your beliefs?
These things are not going to happen so your actions in any of these situations really mean nothing.
Hypothetical situations such as this prove nothing.

No. Nothing the Pope says would change my mind about anything.
It is a broadbased misconception that the Pope is the leader of the whole of Christianity.
Othodox Christianity has their own leader(s) and Protestant Christianity relies on God's Word as the final authority in all matters of faith and belief.

Good grief! Pope Benedict was just praying towards Mecca this week. And you want us all to believe HIM!!!??? The man has compromised His faith completely.

OK! If the pope would say Jesus is not the son of God nor God himself, what would I say about that?

I would not believe the pope!!!!! Why? Because I don't believe in the pope.

You know what? It wouldn't surprise me, If the pope would say something like that.

I only believe in God, not the pope, not any man.

Jesus is the "Son" of "God". "God is God"
