I've been dating my boyfriend for almost 5 years and every year for the holidays I have the worst time finding him a great gift. He's the type that doesn't wait and has to have it. I really wanted to get him the nintendo Wi but he decided to go off and buy it himself so now i'm stuck =/

Is there something anything that's unique/different that I could get for him?

I'd really appreciate your help - Thanks!

We guys like gadgets. Tools are usually great for us. Even if we never use it, we feel better about ourselves LOL. You never quoted a price limitation here, soooooo......

Things I have gotten over the years like a top of the line Leatherman Tool, small aircraft aluminum flashlights (some of these now run up to $400, but generally in the $125 range), magazine subscriptions, fishing equipment (new rod and/or reel), and even gift certificates to Brookstone or Outdoor World were all greatly appreciated.

Ater the pricelessness of your heart, all else is just gravy.

Maybe instead of getting him something new, you can build on what he has. Get him a game for the Wii, or an attachment for his IPod, or a better DVD player, or any type of upgraded piece of what he already has. Maybe surround sound speakers for his TV, a better Wii controller, or some movies. If all else fails, buy him a nice piece of jewelry. A new chain, watch, etc.

Make CD's for him with songs he likes and songs you two have shared. Also a monogrammed silver money clip is nice. It's going to last forever. You can get it at Tiffany.com and they'll monogram it and even get a few words engraved on it. It's not as expensive as you'd think (I think about $65 or so), but when he gets that little blue box? He'll melt and maybe even realize what classy taste you have and reciprocate with his own little blue box for YOU!!!! ;o)

I've seen that little set with a pencil and a tiny car - you draw with the pencil and the car follows the trace - a neat gift, I think. Or a fondue!

Penicillin...

Seriously, (and at the risk of being unhelpful), try finding something that's from the heart rather than a huge price tag. I'm sure you know enough about him to find that something personal and sentimental...

Get him an experience like flying a plane or driving a race car. There are loads of websites for these:
