You need 2 wires to supply the power to the PIR and 2 wires connect the PIR detector output to the alarm control panel. The wording of your question implies you have more connections on the PIR than you have wires. I'm guessing you have 6 connections 2 for power, 2 for tamper and 2 for detector. For a 4 wire link you need to connect in series the tamper and the detector circuit. This converts the 4 PIR connections to 2. Connect a link wire between one connection of the tamper output to one connection of the detector output. The remaining 2 outputs go to your wiring and then back to the control panel along with the 2 for power. No resistors needed.

THe cheap and easy way to do it is to put the resistor in series with the contact loop so that the panel can "see" the resistor. Anyhow, most PIR's have 4 screw terminals. Two are for power and the other 2 are for the contact loop. If there are only 3 terminals or 3 wires, the negative side (or "low" side) of the contact loop can be shared with the power ground.
