You need to wash your hair everday. Try a shower instead, it gives a cleaner rinse. Don't use heavy oil laden conditioners. Go with something light. Make sure that your brushes and combs are clean also.

Switch shampoos. You should change your shampoo brand every 6 months. You can even alternate between two brands, back and forth. You'll be so surprised at how much better your hair will do.
Also make sure that whatever you switch to, doesn't have a lot of moisturizers, so look for "for normal hair" or "for oily hair" on the container.
A quick comment about previous answers:
You don't HAVE to shampoo your hair everyday and DO NOT use powder in your hair. It will make it look dull and lifeless. The switching trick is all you need.

Just wash it every day and use special shampoo for oily hair. U can also find tonic lotion for hair, after u shower, u rub it against your skin, its good and healthy, and it will make your hair grow faster. If you use balsam after shampoo must be also for oily hair, but try to apply it more on the ends of your hair and less or not at all on your roots.

I absolutely have very oily hair myself. i have got here upon and what i love in my view is utilising Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner twin personality: Root purifier + Tip mender. Its in a red bottle and the conditioner is in a white bottle. It cleans the roots and mends the frazzles! i take advantage of it daily and my hair is silky bright yet without the oil! attempt that and be conscious how that works. i love it!! It does the trick for me!

if you have oily hair you need to wash it every day, since your sebum glands are overactive on your scalp the only way to counteract that is by washing it.
