My hair is to the middle of my back. I start a new job today and im so used to wearing my hair down, that I get bored with a plain ol' ponytails. Can anyone suggest a cute, but fairly easy updo for me?

either twist it up and put a cute clip or those chopsticks in it or make ur hair in a bun, or make a medium high pony tail and take 1 inch of ur hair strand and wrap it around the hair band this looks nice and professional

Start by pulling your hair back as if you were going to put it in a reg. low pony tail. Now twist the hair while gently pulling up wards. I twist mine 5 or 6 times. Hold firmly onto the ends with one hand, and ,about 4 to 5 inches up, grasp the twist with your index finger and make a large loop, bringing the ends back down to the base of the twist. The loop should lay fairly flat ,just showing above the crown of your head., the ends hiden behind the body of the twist. Using a jaw-type clip, or barrette,or what ever strikes your fancy, secure the twisted hair in place by clamping the clip apx. half way up the twist. I like to use the clips that are covered with a bow. I like the loop and some of the bow to show over the top of my head to balance out my features. ( and to add a little height) I also let some hair escape on the sides and often in the back(just a few) to soften the look and again to balance my features. I have an inverted triangle shaped face..pointy chin and high wide cheekbones. The escaping hair on the sides(about 1/2 in.) hangs down to give the illusion of a wider jaw. Once you get the hang of this hairdo , it is real easy. You can even leave your hair down and then quickly twist it up when you get to work. My coworkers thought I had spent a lot of time on it , actually , it is my stay at home -no fuss hairdo----You might try a French braid , but it is a lot harder to do by yourself. It will braid easier if it is wet or not washed every day. Your library should have how-to books on braids.A french braid is when you start with 3 equal strands on the top of your head, and as you go down, crossing the strands over each other, you have to add more hair from each side to the existing strands until, at the bottom back of your head, you have added into the braid all the remaining hair. With my directions, it sounds impossible. I have better luck with this one by not using the mirror as much. Well, good luck on the new job! I'll share a little secret with you..it makes even the most boring job fun...Tell yourself and also pretend , that you are not really a ______,in my case it was a shoe clerk, but actually you are an actress just playing a ____clerk in real life. And play the part to be the best whatever you know how to be. My customers and boss loved the actress clerk(not knowing what was happening) my coworkers made gaggy sounds at me(which was fun in it's own way!) I did play it a little over the top , rather sickly sweet and too too helpful.. but it got me through 15 years and I actually had a lot of fun....And during the x-mas rush, I had customers who would rather wait longer in my line than go to a shorter line , because, they said it was more fun to wait for me than to get out faster! We all felt pretty good on that day.

Take care on the type you will combine colorations, while dressed. making use of stunning upload-ons (whether this is allowed) may well be a answer. you have not stated your colorations: are you trustworthy blond? or you have vast brown eyes? Is it allowed to maintain any makeup? A clean lipstick might desire to be the answer, now and back.
