I've never heard that. The only thing that attracts mice is the dogs food..

Dog food attracts mice if it is left out. However add a cat and that would stop that if you want to leave food out all the time. HEEEEE
Dogs themself do not attract mice. Actually I have had good mousing dogs, in the past. They go out in the field and hunt for mice and such for fun.

I agree with the dog food theory. And not all dogs will kill mice. It depends on the breed and temperament. The typical behavior is like with cats where they may play with it for a while, but eventually they will grab it and shake it until its neck breaks, but they won't eat it usually.
Another theory is that dogs may scare away other mouse predators, since they are very territorial.

Any form of livestock attracts mice. It is really their food and the grain in it that attracts them. If you keep the food locked up in mouse-proof containers and clean up excrement quickly you will have nothing to worry about.

Who told you this?? Do not believe everything peeps tell you.
We have a mix cow dog that will kill mice, he is great at it! Wont eat them just kill them. He will scratch at where ever the mouse is at too.
He also kills bugs and will scratch when there is ants in the house that I kill. He will kill as many bugs as he can, but being where there are killer bugs is not good for his health. He is fantastic yellow jacket killer too. He is the greatest dog!!
