Nowhere is guaranteed snow in the UK, but try Aviemore in the Cairngorm Mountains of Scotland. It is a ski and vacation resort so there is a half-decent chance of snow.

Snow in the UK is not common at Christmas. Indeed, at low levels, it is rare.
So you will not normally find snow at Christmas even in Glasgow or Edinburgh. But, just to the south of Glasgow are Eaglesham Moor and Fenwick Moor, both spanned by the M77. Both moors can have a coating of snow anytime from November to April. Likewise there was snow on Arran ten days ago.
In essence, the higher and further north you go, the more likely you are to find snow. Usually, the first road in the UK to be blocked by snow is the A939 between Cockbridge and Tomintoul, although prior to that the snow gates on the A9 may well have been closed as a precautionary measure.

Urban areas are on average 3degrees hotter than rural ones so villages and small towns are more likely to get show. Yorkshire and Cumbria are the the parts of England most likely to get snow. In Scotland anywhere high up and northern has a decent chance. Fort William, Wick and Aberdeen are all good places to consider.

You're pretty much guaranteed snow in The Cairngorms, the rest of Scotland tends to get snow late January onwards.

I've been living in York for the last 3 years and I seem to remember it snowing in decmber most times, one year there was about 5 inches in a night. Generally the further north you go the more chance, although it seems to be a warm winter so far.
