I agree with staffie bull terrier owner. I too have a staffy and sometimes I see a child looking over at him curiously, a little bit frightened.
It is so nice to be able to say "come and pat him he is very friendly" and they are thrilled when he starts to lean against them and snuggle up to them!
It must be awful to be scared of dogs so children should be socialised with dogs (as long as they are taught good manners to ask "can I pat your dog" first).

Proud!
But sometimes people have a habit of wanting to come over at the most inappropriate time like when your talking to someone else your your dog wants to go to the toilet but other than that I'm proud and happy people wanna say hello to my dog,

I am very proud, Especially when parents come up with their young children to say hello,
As the Staffie Bull Terrier has been given a bad reputation, I think it's nice that some people know that they are one of the softest dogs out there when it comes to a bit of attention and and a belly tickle

I feel proud, but my dog is a greyhound, and she doesn't like strangers coming up and stroking her at all! Where I live, quite a lot of people carry dog biscuits to give out to dogs they meet (which I think is really sweet - I never knew people did things like that until I got my dog!). My dog refuses the biscuits though, which is a bit embarrassing when someone is trying to be friendly.

No, I never get irritated. I love helping to teach people about responsible dog ownership and how to approach dogs. I am proud whether they like my dog or not. I spent many hours training my dog and can take him anywhere safely, for him, the people and other dogs and he is a 140# Akita named Bear.

I don't get irritated if the people ask me first if it is ok to say hello to my dog. If they just walk up and start to stroke him, or start talking to him when I'm telling him to sit and distract him I get annoyed. But on the whole, no, I am happy for people to want to pet any of my dogs as long as they ask first.

Proud, proud proud!
The only ones that irritate me are the ones who allow their children to run up to my dogs. Not smart to allow your kids to do that around any animal that you're not familiar with.

It drives me NUTS when people touch my dog without asking. When he has his jacket on he is busy and he should be left alone. It says so on the jacket. But people are idiots. People feed him and I ask them to stop, and they say, 'well, he ate it!' Of course he bloody ate it, he's a dog! When he doesn't have his jacket on people should ask. I have had kids pull his hair and people pull on his jowls. I jump between them. My dog would never bite unlessyou were really hurting him and he couldn't run away. But how the hell do they know that? If people asked I can give a command to my dog to say it's okay to see them and he can sniff them carefully before they go fussing him. It scares him if people he doesn't know stroke him roughly. But people say, but he's wagging his tail. Because he's scared, noobs! If people tell me he's a nice dog I am proud but if people act without brain around him I get annoyed.

Proud of course. Most folks want to pet your dog because they are true animal lovers and probably don't have a dog of their own. The dogs love it too!!
