Birth control is simply the prevention of pregnancy. If someone is going to have sex, then different types of birth control can be used. There are barrier methods which contain and/or kill sperm (condoms, foam, diaphram), birth control pills (they inhibit ovulation necessary for pregnancy to occur), and IUD's which are placed inside the uterus and prevent implantation of a fertilized egg. Whether these methods work or not depends mostly on whether the person using them reads the directions and uses them correctly.

Birth control helps to prevent pregnancy. You have alot of sex and pregnancy questions you might want to think about visiting a planned parenthood near you and take a sex education class. They can teach you the things you are needing to know factually and in more depth than you can get here.

birth control can be different things, there is condoms, and other products that are sold, also there are birth control pills and patches, these things help prevent a woman from becoming pregnant, though they are not 100% effective, they still work pretty well

any way to avoid getting pregnant.
there are many methods.
the "pill" prescribed and taken once a day is one.
diaphragm, patch, condoms/foam,
intrauterine device (implanted by a doctor not used much)
abstinence, and less reliable methods such as
withdrawl or fertility cycle analysis methods.
you need it whenever you have sex and don't want to have a baby.
some methods use hormones. (pill, patch)
some methods use blocking. (condoms, diaphragm)
teenwire.com should have good info on this.
