In the Pink Floyd song, "The Wall", at the end you hear a man yelling at a child "If you don't eat your meat, ya can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat?". I pose the question, Why can't you have a pudding regardless of the eating of meat?

"Eat all your dinner or you can't have any dessert" or so the saying goes....All in all it's just another brick in the wall.

Listen to the lyrics of the song in context. It's about kids rebelling. It's the voice of an overbearing parent making a rule about dinner and dessert. Most parents won't let their kids have dessert without eating all of their dinner.
