Moses, David, Solomon, etc that came after Abraham were NOT Islamic prophets as far as I know. They were Jewish. Christianity claims the Jewish history and claims to be a fulfillment of the Law of Moses through the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
All three religions are called Abrahamic faiths because Abraham was the last common prophet that all three shared.

First came the Torah (the Jewish Scrolls)....... and it had many additions to it over the years. It was complete probably 1000 years before Christ came along.
In that time however the Israelites had some problems with bigger nations that conquered them from time to time. Babylon was one of them and the Torah had some changes that are debated even today during that occupation.
The Christians come next sort of and co-exist following the Torah until roughly 325 A.D. The split happens forever at the Council of Nicea as 3 of 51 'Gospels' are chosen as 'Gods workings'.
The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) comes along in roughly 600 A.D. and revolutionizes the North African/ Middle Eastern region. He introduces writing and laws to the tribes he was with and began to write himself.
The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) decided that what was written was not false, but it was not correct either. He went into the Temple in Mecca and removed idols and images of several deities and said that never more shall such idols and images be allowed.
What he caused was a resurgence of beliefs that were common across 3 different sub-beliefs that all come from the SAME belief.
Funny how we now feel we are so different from each other.
REALLY Funny thinking that with Christian, Jew, and Muslim all sometimes thinking of killing one another that the very SAME God is sitting in Judgment of every single one of them.

Abraham (pbuh) had 2 sons: Ishmael (pbuh) and Isaac (pbuh).
From the descendants of Isaac (pbuh) came Christianity and Judaism and from the descendants of Ishmael (pbuh) came Islam.
Since Abraham (pbuh) was the ancestor to the Prophets of all these faiths, these faiths are called Abrahamic faiths.

They are all part of the Abrahamic religious cycle which began with Abraham and ended with Mohummed, the Seal of the Prophets. A new religious cycle began in 1844 with a divine Messenger named The Bab (The Gate) who heralded the coming of an intense and mighty Revelation which God sent to Earth in 1863 by a Manifestation of Himself, Baha'u'llah (The Glory of God). The Baha'i religious cycle will last for approximately 100,000 years before God establishes a new one. During that time, God will send a new Revelation (new religion) every 500 -1000 years. The next Manifestation of God will not appear until approximately 2844.

Abraham was, according to all associated traditions, the first of all monotheists. It is the god of Abraham who is worshipped by each of these groups.
Abraham is not the last common connection, but the greatest common denomonator; he is the founder of monotheistic religion.

Because in each of their scriptures, Abraham is the one whom God chose with whom God established his covenant.
The Covenant is the what makes Abraham stand out... and that covenant of God's blessing is what Abraham passes on to his children. (Ismael and Isaac)

Because they are all parts of one faith - Islam. Abraham was a Muslim and so were all prophets that came after him. A Muslim is one who submits to the God, the One. It's basically one long novel from Abraham, to Moses, to Jesus, to Muhammad as being the final prophet. (of course these aren't the only prophets)
