I don't think so. God knows a persons heart. He knows if what they're doing is malicious or not. He knows what's happened to them to push them to that point. I don't think most clinically insane people would just go around killing someone without there being an underlying reason that wouldn't necessarily make sense to the normal person. At the same time, I don't think insanity is a good plea in a court case because I think anyone would have to be insane in order to murder someone.

God is all just, and He is all merciful.
God knows how to be God, and exactly how He would judge an insane murderer, we don't really know, because nobody can know a persons heart.
God does not punish, He does not send anyone to hell. People send themselves to hell, or have to suffer the consequences of what they do either in this life or the next. (final purification of the saved)

No, I do not believe that God will punish murderers if they are not consciously aware of their actions.
That would be like putting a very young child (1, 2 or 3 years of age) to death if he got hold of a knife and killed his mother. It would certainly not be on purpose, as the child would have no way of knowing and understanding that he was murdering his mother.

Any bad act is accompanied by a demonic spirit.Madness is ademonic spirit and murder is also a demonic spirit.Thou shall not kill. This is a command and must be obeyed irrespective of your race, dignity and social status. In the kingdom of God ignorant is no excuse.Every body will be hold responsible for any offense cmmitted.Ignoramous is no excuse in the kingdom of God.The person would be forgiven after confession hasbeing made.Anybody who kill by the sword will die by the sword.

God doesn't punish. On the day of judgment, if you aren't one of His children by accepting Christ, you will be forever separated from Him.
It doesn't matter if you are sane or insane when you commit murder, or any other sin. What matters (your ticket to forgiveness) is accepting His Son and turning away from your former way of life.
What happens if you commit murder after you accepted Christ? If you ask for forgiveness from your heart (and God knows your heart), you will be made clean. If you don't ask for forgiveness, then God will judge you on that last day. But, you will never be separated from Him.
That is His promise, and God keeps His promises.
But, even though you repent to the Father, you must still face the consequences for your actions here on earth. May it be life inprisonment or death.
Bottom line, it doesn't matter if you are sane or insane. What matters is if you have come to Christ, made Him Lord of your life.

I wouldn't think so. Sin isn't "sin" unless the person committing it knows that there is a law forbidding it. For someone such as the clinically insane, who truly have no control over their actions, I doubt if there will be a very serious consequence in the hereafter.
Not sure though...good question.

Ok I just read the responses and some of you proclaim to be practicing Christians but show no mercy for someone as Jesus would have?
In Islam, if someone is clinically insane, not within their right mind whatsoever (i.e. retarded, schizo, etc.), then no they are not held accountable for their sins.

If someone is genuinely not aware ot their actions, even a court of law will not convict anyone unless there was intent that can be proved. Of course, for us, it is not easy to know for sure about peoples' intentions.
If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #93)
Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts; and He is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing.
( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #225)

It isn't about punishments from God it's about karma- actions and consequences-what you sow is what you reap. If you aren't fully aware of what you are doing you will have less difficulty coming to terms with the consequences of your actions and the karmic price you have to pay will be less.

If their insanity prevents them from fully comprhending the concept of God and right and wrong, I do not see how they can be held accountable for their sin.
But we do not really know who that is,,I mean..are they really "Clinically Insane?" or are they just good at fooling the judicial system, we may never really know.
