I have satellite on one tv in my house, and I would like it on another tv. Is there a way I can get it on another tv without haveing to watch the same channel as the origional tv? I have an extra reciever box if needed.

In answer to your question first of all yes. And yes it might cost you additional fees to activate and have the second reviever hooked up. Are you on Dish Network or on Direct TV? Call Dish or direct and they can send out a tech to check out the issue. If it's with Dish we could just hook you up with a new dual reciever and you can watch two separate channels on two tvs at the same time. If you want a dual DVR you can record a show while watching another recording and etc. www.dishnetwork.com for more info. Thanks from a satellite Dish net tech.

some providers offer dual-tuner units, so one receiver can run two separate TVs, the second one using a UHF remote rather than infrared. STill needs to be wired though from the receiver to your second TV, but its one receiver which may work out cheaper than activating and paying for 2.

You will need to have your second receiver activated and (unfortunately) you'll have to pay a monthly fee for the second receiver. Your satellite dish will also need to have two feeds and two cables must run from the dish to the house. One receiver is connected to one cable and the other receiver connects to the second cable. Connected this way, each receiver can tune to a separate channel.

Having a dual-feed dish, two cables and two activated receivers is the only way to watch two satellite programs independently of each other.
