since I have had my hysterctomy and it put me in menopause, my depression has gotten a lot worse than it ever has been..Hormones play a big part in depression.

lol, if so then I've got it!!!! I don't know if I would say mental illness, per se, but the hormonal changes from menopause definitely can affect a woman. An endocrinologist would the wisest expert on this issue.
