Eph 5:25-29 and 33
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church—

33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

You love her as Christ loved us. You seek her best and highest interest in God. You put her above all else except for Christ. You leader her and you family in Christ. When you do devotion together you lead. When you pray together you lead. When a decision is made concerning the family or the relationship you lead. You stand up for her and protect her purity and reputation, and your own. You become a Godly man so that youcan trully lead her as you ought.

A good leader is willing to accept responsibility for the mistakes of his followers. A good leader is strong in faith but humble and gentle. A good leader is willing to sacrifice his personal desires to accomodate the needs of his followers. A good leader has no unconfessed or unrepented of sin in his life. A good leader has a consistent daily prayer life and prays for his followers. Above all, a good Christian leader knows what the Bible says and applies God's Word to every circumstance in his life.

The best way to be a good leader in any relationship is by the fruit of the spirit which is Galatians 5:22,love, joy and peace longsuffering and gentleness, goodness and faith. The best leadership qualities ever found caused people to chase after you rather than trying to work toil and sweat, beg and demand someone to listen. That was the example that Jesus Christ showed us in the gospel's. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
In short, you walk in Love and people will want to follow you.. If you don't it will take more than a team of horse's to get them to follow you.

I like the book "Man of Steel and Velvet" even though it is not a Christian book. It has lots of good advice in it about how to be a Godly husband. There are several free articles on my website that might illicit some thought. You can check them out at www.christiandomesticdiscipline.com. God bless you and have a great day!

the best leader is one who puts the needs of their followers above their needs,,,, while you might have an overall goal for all, you cant reach it by dismissing any individual goals,,,, its a huge responsibility, especially in a relationship,,,,, you need to know what is best, the best direction for the family,, plus you must tune into what is best for an individual,,,,,, which might conflict with what is best for the whole family,,,,,,,,and reach a balance,,,,

a leader can work hand in hand with others,,,, involving them in decisions,,, solutions,,,,,etc,,,, the best leaders take a team attitude,,, that while yes sometimes someone must be in control, represent the team,,,,, it is a team effort , and each person on the team is just as valid as anyone else,,,,,,and has valid things to contribute.

God tells you to be a "leader" in your relationships??? So essentially what you are doing is using the religious dogma to justify your control issues, correct? Pardon me for actually reading the bible, but didn't Jesus teach about the virtues of humility and being a FOLLOWER?

Only beat your partner when they deserve it. Never allow them to have an independent thought. Humiliate them in public to show them who is boss. Make them have sex when they don't want to and deny them when they do. Find out what foods they hate and force them to eat it every day. Always leave the seat up and don't flush. Insist on reading ALL mail first. Kick their pets and then use the bible to justify all of it. Now you are a real Christian.
