He always licks them and I can't get him to stop. I'd try to put those little plugs in, but I'm afraid he'd eat them. What can I do about it?

this one is serious each time you see the dog doing this you Will have to go to the dog as it is licking the outlet and hold his nose and then with two fingers give him a swat on the nose and say NO bad.
if you swat the dogs nose snout like i said with two fingers only it will do the trick and not harm the dog . this is a time when you have to go this route because as you know the dog could kill himself doing that.

There is a product called Bitter Apple that you can buy, either in a spray or a gel (I'd use the gel around outlets) They don't like the taste at all!!! Just smear it around the outlet and once the dog gets a taste it should stop the licking.

Get some bitter apple to deter him. I think any pet supply place should carry it or a similar product. It makes anything that you don't want him to chew on or lick taste bad. Good luck!

Put the baby-proof plugs in. They lie flat and are hard to get out even by humans. I had to install them due to granddaughter and have to use a butter knife to get them out.

Those little plug things are really hard to get out. . .You could try putting tape over them, or blocking off the areas so he can't get to them.

those little plugs are about the best thing becos they are hard to get out, so if he can't get them out he can't do himself any harm.
