In the Kraft pulping process the wood is soaked in Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda), Sodium Sulfite and water. In recycling paper can be made into pulp by disolving into water. I can give more details if needed just ask.

Water is the solvent. Chlorine gas or Bleach is added. The chlorine will work on the lignin in the wood pulp so that it starts to break down into smaller pieces of cellulose fiber. Once the fibers are separated, the cellulose can be filtered out to form paper.

i think its some type of detergents. we made paper in science class once out of household detergent.

they call it liquor theres black liquor and white ligour. i assume its a heavy alcohol. ive worked shutdowns at paper mills
