I'm with Lila on this one ... 15% is the standard these days for a tip. If the service was exceptional, feel free to leave more (I'm sure your server will never be disappointed). With that said, however, do not feel compelled to leave anything. A tip is a reflection and reward for good service. Look for a friendly smile, menu knowledge, quick service, etc. from your waiter/waitress. If he/she does a good job, go ahead ... let him/her know!

I think it's 15%...but if the waiter is not so great...10%---if the waiter is awesome...then 20-25%. It's all in the service to me. Usually an average is 15%. Good luck!

All hotels charge service charge of a certain percentage half of that percentage if the service was good, double if it was excellent and none if it was bad/genuinely unsatisfactory. Classy example frm my dining experience, I went to this shady restaurant where I found a few small stones in the dal makhani, but service was excellent so let half of service charge as tip

Totally depends on the service. When my husband and I go to our favorite restaurant, we always request a certain waitress. She is the best one there, and we always tip very well. Our bill is usually around twenty dollars, and we never leave her less than ten.
If we get a bad waitress, we might leave a dollar or two. And I know what it's like to live on tips. I used to waitress! It depends on the service.

15% of the total bill . A waiter will always remember the good tippers, and you get better service on the return visit.

I consider myself a generous tipper.
I usually leave 20%. I know how difficult and exhausting it is to work in a restaurant.
Unless, of course, the service is terrible.

It depends on how happy with the service. If your not happy with it, leave 10%. If you get great service, leave 20%. Anything in between, leave 15%.

Start at 15% of your guest check, before taxes. If the service is above average, tip more. If below average, tip less.
