i have put downlights in the bedroom i want to put a pull switch above bed how do i wire it.

you have to buy new sockets for that its really easy. my house is all pull switch i joke with my girl friend that when we are going to bed i can swing like tarzan from pull switch to pull switch all the way to the bedroom. just pull the old one off one wire at a time and hook up the new one just like you see the old one hooked up make shure you turn off the breacker. and cover each wire with tape after you test it. good luck

just like a regular switch or you can install a swag you know the chain that goes across the room with the wire thru it then plug it in
have the switch near you

You need a junction box. or to find a junction box in the attic (if you have one ). pick up some of those handy leaflets at the DIY stores. They explain things perfectly. I have used this method to wire my own.
