Just look for a specialist photograhic shop, other shops will sell colour print or slide, but very few places sell black and white film any more.

I'm in Costa Rica, and I've never been in London, but if I were there I would not be looking for a shop to buy film.
I would go to a shop, but only to buy a mag on photography. Then I would find adverts for film on sale, I would order one long roll of "dated" film to use for practice shots. (In your dark room you only need to develop dated film a bit longer) and one roll (not too long) of fresh film. Then I would order a couple dozen cartridges to load. You can easily get 36 pix on film if you load it yourself
Then I would go out with the dated stuff and shoot every thing that looks interesting to develop and examine and learn from.
Tip: photograph people, not scenery or buildings or that sort of thing. Candid pix taken in a park or a subway will be far more rewarding. No building was ever as interesting as a mother and child. Remember to compose, to look at all that surrounds your subject for its relevance to the subject. Does the ambience enhance the subject? Is it consistent or contrastive? Imagine a homless person asleep on a bench bellow a poster for some sort of middle class comfort, a better house or bigger car. If you find a live one, get it from angles if possible, don't go with one shot if you've got a good posibility.
Oh, you're gonna have fun.

There's a camera shop between Tottenham Court Road tube and Warren Street tube - actually on TC Rd - if you look on google or www.yello.co.uk (Yellow Pages) you should be able to find it. It looks like a good shop.
