No, there are no gods to hear them.

One man with a hammer can do more good than a billion people praying.

I would say prayers to God are indeed heard but you may not get the answer that you want or would like. E.g why should God answer the prayer of someone wanting to pass an exam when they haven't bothered to do any revision? I suppose it depends in part what the intentions behind the prayer are,

Yes, God hears our prayers.
Some times the answers are a yes.
Sometimes it's a no.
And sometimes we are asked to wait.

I hope you'll like this poem -

Wings Of A Prayer

Just close your eyes
and open your heart
And feel your worries
and cares depart...
Just yield yourself
to the Father above
And let Him hold you
secure in His love,

For He hears every prayer
and answers each one
When we pray in His name,
"Thy will be done" --
And the burdens that seemed
too heavy to bear
are lifted away
on the wings of prayer

The idols..... they can't even speak, nor see, so how can they hear? What can they do instead of just sit there?

These idiots, make the idols and worship them, how dumb is that?

You blimey made that sculpture and your worshipping it asking for help!

You have to clean it, and give it stuff! Can't it/they get things for themselves?

You might as well, get a hammer and break them, and worship the Only True God.

Prayers are definetly answered the reason we do not see it is because we lack patience to wait for an answer as we expect immediate action. Praying requires patience and a belief that God will actually answer you.

I do not believe in God, so I have no one to pray to. However I have friends who do believe in a Christian God, a Catholic and also one who believes in Allah. Each of them believes in prayer and each believes that their God hears, listens and sometimes answers their prayers. It can`t be proved either way. You must follow your heart.

As they said, "God is everywhere." So whereever you will go and recite your prayer, God will hear it. If you pray sincerely and with all your heart, God will grant your prayers.
