Yes. Just wash well, pierce with fork or cut a slit in top, wrap in damp paper towel and cook for approximately 4 minutes (could be a little longer depending on microwave).

In the summer of 1963 or '64 I was a high school student working in a downtown restaurant for the summer when one day the boss gathered us around an odd looking metal box, into which he placed a raw potato, closed the door and pushed a button. A minute or two later, the thing buzzed, he opened the door and to the amazement of everyone, cut open a baked potato. We had witnessed one of the first microwave ovens in action! Interesting that more than 40 years later, the question is still being asked. In other words, yes.

YES, I have done it and the result is very similar to an oven-baked potato. Just remember the potato that might take an hour in the oven will take about 4 minutes in the Microwave. Poke it through with a fork or knife to make holes in it before microwave "baking" it, and DO NOT wrap it in foil.

Yes you can, but it depends on the size of the potatoe. I always do mine in the microwave oven. I put mine on a plate, press the button for 12mins. After 6 minutes open the door and turn your potatoe over and then press the start button and cook for another 6 mins. It is DONE.

Do not peel the potato.Wet it with water and place it on a non metallic dish.
Scoop out the top to make a small well.Put a little butter into the well.
Set the oven for medium heat for 3 minutes.
Set for high heat for 1 minute.

Sure...

Poke some holes in it with a fork first to allow the steam to escape. Wrap is a damp paper towel to help keep the peelings from drying out. Cooking time depends on wattage of oven. I'd start with 5 minutes and see if it's done, remember, you can always put back in and cook longer but you can't 'uncook' it.

Hope this helps!

Take the potato and wash it well, then poke about 5 holes in it,put it in a sandwich bag(wrap the ends under),put in you microwave and zap 5 mins. Then try the potato by poking thru the wrap to see if it's soft. When soft on the inside just roll it out of the baggy---BAM a nice baked potato.......

Yes and it iss a fast way to cook a baked potato. Just make sure you pierce it several times with a fork so that the internal steam buildup during cooking doesn't explode the potato.
