No, there isn't a cure yet for HIV. But the drug cocktails are much better and helping people who have AIDS live a longer more comfortable life. They also have drug cocktails that can help keep you from movng from HIV to AIDS now also.

No. There hasn't ever been a cure for any virus in history. It'll be awhile before there is one because:

The Bad News:
-Viruses and your own cells aren't easy to single out to target with medicine.

-Viruses lack a certain gene that makes them code identitically, that leads to different virus "finger prints". So if you were to say find the cure for one specific viral it wouldn't matter because the ones after it would be slightly different.

The Good News:

In the unfortunate situation that you already have HIV your best bet is have great insurance to pay for the $10,000 per month medicine cocktails. Right now HIV in developed nations is seen as more of a chornic disease than a death sentence like it used to. That of course is only if you can afford the medicine.
