I'm new here, so I hope somebody really answers and helps me. :)

I've been exercising and been on a diet these past few weeks, and I have already lost about 4 pounds. My exercise is dancing (fast dancing, or hip hop) and it's really tiring. I already lost 4 pounds and I'm proud that I did, but I still want to lose weight.

Anyway, I have noticed my legs and my right arm getting bigger, and I don't like it, it's like the muscle there is getting bigger. My thighs got thinner, but my legs are slowly becoming bigger because of the muscle, and even my right arm! So how can I lost muscle or make them smaller, because I want a feminine figure, and please don't try contradicting that feminine figures have muscles, etc and BS like that.

So how do you lose muscle while losing weight? Or make them smaller?

What if I stop eating foods that are high in protein, and what if I lessen my calorie intake, will it help lose muscle?

The exercise you're doing obviously gives your muscles an excellent workout!
The easiest way to lose muscle mass is to stop exercising the muscles in question. See if you can find another kind of exercise you enjoy that has a lower impact on the muscles you're worried about.

I can't believe you are getting advise from people to stop your exercise........! Nonsense.

When body gets the work out like the way you are doing, they do not lose or gain in one area only. It proportionately adjusts from head to toe.

What exactly happening in your case is, you are losing fat and gaining muscle mass - which is a good thing. With muscle mass, you actually burn more calories effiiently and it continues to workout even after you stopped exercising for the day. This is the secret to losing weight and getting into shape. Knowingly or unknowingly you are doing the right thing.....Don't stop what you are doing. You are on the right track.

Everything will become right over time. You cannot make just some parts of your body smaller and something else bigger. It doesn't work that way. Keep up the good work....and.....Congratulations.........!!

I think it is very unlikely that a low strength/weight and high repetition workout will ever give you bulky muscles, unless you had very little muscles to begin with. Typically if you want to build up muscle mass you do something like weight lifting - even if the weight isn't that much to begin with. Your workout should give you endurance more than strength. But generally you loose muscle mass by not using them. You could stay in bed all day and try to lose weight by not eating anything. Definitely not a recommended course of action because it won't be healthy. I wouldn't worry that much. You probably do need a new image of what a feminine figure is.

I have the same problem...building muscle easily...I continued to exercise because it's a great habit and great for me!! and I cut down on the protein a little bit & increased the veggies. However, in addition to cardio type exercise, I also lift weights, so I also cut back on the amount of weights I lifted and did higher reps. Worked extremely well, lost alot of weight, and muscle, but kept great muscle tone. DO NOT eliminate protein all together, you'll have no energy! ...but DO ask your doctor about your diet and concerns, chances are that you are perfect the way you are.

Yea, I agree- that is BS to have muscles on a feminine figure.

Um, your exercise is too intense- that is what is making you have muscles. So you are getting tired like you complained about, and building muscle, which you dont' want. So slow it way down.

Also, your muscles need complete proteins to grow. Stop eating meat. No protein, no muscles.
