I have to design a newspaper for my writing class in school. I know how to split a page into columns, but I'm trying to extend the picture over two of the three columns and have a subtitle to the picture while still continuing the articles main text alongside the picture. Does anyone know how to do that?

You go to format.
Next click columns.
Next then click how ever many columns you need.

For extending the picture you right click and pick format picture.
Next go to layout and click In front of text.

For subtitles, make a text box.

Hope this helps!

It appears you cannot put a picture over 2 columns and force the text around the picture.
One way to do this would be to create 6 text boxes around the picture and link them (in the correct order). I would then place another text box below the picture to subtitle it.
