What does it mean if there is a girl
One month or more ago you told her your feeling thru e-mail and she said she just wanted to be friends
and then now..
she becomes quieter towards you and talks less to you. She asks you less questions..

but still

she is kind and helpful towards you (that is her personality also)
and she keeps praising you for your intelligence, etc

and you feel that she looks at you more often

And you also do not talk much since you are a very shy guy

What does it mean?

Isn't it such a paradox?

It seems as though you took the necessary step to determine if this friendship could become a relationship. It is apparent that she does not consider this an option, so there is now an uncomfortable atmosphere due to her understanding of your desires and her lack of physical attraction. She probably misses the conversations you had as friends, so that may be the reason she continues to look your way, but is timid to talk again. Although you are probably disappointed that you will not have a relationship further than just friends, it is important that you write another email saying that you fully understand and respect her feelings, and value the friendship she offers more than anything. It was her kindness that made you want to be with her, and continuing that as friends is more valuable to you and that the uncomfortableness of looming feelings should not be misinterpreted or cause further concern.

She's probably a nice girl who feels a little awkward around you. Maybe she even has a partner already. "I'd rather be friends" means exactly that.

If she was interested, she wouldn't have responded that way.

Simply being kind, helpful and listening is what people should be like anyway. Since most people are, unfortunately, not like that it's always easy to interpret this behaviour as 'interest'.

I'd give up the chase and put it down to a short but sweet crush. If in the future she is interested, she will let you know.

It means that she wants to be JUST friends but you keep haven't taken the hint yet. She doesn't want to hurt you by telling you to leave her alone all together but is coming to the conculsion that she is going to HAVE to because you refuse to beleive all she wants is friendship. It means that she wants you to BACK OFF...no paradox there other than what you are conjuring up in your own tiny mind.

it doesn't have to mean any thing. Don't think that much of things you can't be sure of not to get hurt.
and as long as it's about you and your feelings, why don't you just ask her whatever in your mind, after all no body knows you or can see you.
believe in your self, be strong 'cuz life ain't easy.

It sounds like she is shy like you are and she has feeling for you too but doesn't know how to tell you.
