Try your local Library.

Just stop by and ask your librarian. Odds are you can walk out with what you need for free.

Good luck

Sounds like you have the problem arguing with neighbours. Maybe you should alter your behaviour and not get involved in arguments whether you feel they are the instigators.

Grow up and do not entertain such provocation. If you cant help yourself, then move out.

The more complaints the Housing department receive about you together with Police visits etc the more chance you have of being evicted.

TPAS has a good web site for all your rights including repairs. Leaking pipes should be attended to within 5 days if the leak is not a serious burst.

You have a responsibility as a tenant to look after the property also. If you caused any damage the council will repair and recharge you for the work.

A lot of it depends on what part of the law you need to know. One of the most useful documents I have I got of the internet, after being told what to look for by a lawer who was well versed in housing law, it is called "Landlord & Tenant Act 1985" I think I just googled it, by the way mine involved being flooded by the neighbourd from above and my Landlord, a Housing Association, were shocked into action after I quoted the said act to them and said if they did nothing I would sue them for breach of this act and my tenancy agreement, but best to get your facts straight before threatening legal action. Good Luck

Dear Rachel,
I am not sure which country your in but here are a few sites that will help. If you live in the U.K. try www.tenantshandbook.oxford.gov.uk/oxfordtenancy/tenantsrights.htm
If you live in the U.S try; www.tenant.net/
You can also go to Amazon.com & they have many books on the subject.
GOOD LUCK!
