Hello Smita,

Your grandma was 87yrs old. I am sure she had lived a very happy and full life since I see that she has left behind a concerned granddaughter like you behind.

Death is always surrounds by not only grief of the lost person but also a lot of guilt, regrats and should have's and could have's. It is normal to have doubts. It's normal to think that may be we didn't do enough...

But the bottomline is that she was old and she was ready to go. It is very difficult to see them go but sometimes life for an older person gets very rough and painful. So if she left without much suffering that is a wounderful death. Take care of yourself. Her diet sounds just fine. Go easy on yourself and others who took care of her.

So what are you asking? If you think that at 87 her diet killed her I dont think it did. there may have been some type of undiagnosed medical situation that led to her passing. It could be that it was just her time. Dont go down the retrospect path and think yourself into a place mentaly where her death is your fault. I dont think it was. If you had not fed her, delebrately starved her or denied her medical care for her cough or some other medical condition then yeah its your fault but outside of that no I dont think its your fault. Pray for her soul and if your situation fits the latter set of criteria then pray for your own as well and turn yourself in to the authorities.

Your Grandmother seemed to have lived a long full life. I see nothing wrong with her diet or the care that I am sure that your family took of her. I know you are sad to have lost her. But you should take no blame for the loss. It was her time. Her diet was well suited to her age and can not be faulted. You have my sympathy but as a nurse I can see nothing wrong with the care you described.
