I heard a sermon once that preached on E.T. and wanted to desperately to link it with the story of Jesus. I can't remember now what that link was! lol To me E.T the extra-terrestial was a modern-day Lassie, wise in its own way, helpful to a boy's growing-up process, and vulnerable to the dangers of an adult world. It wasn't specifically, though some hardline fanatics try to make out that ET healing the child's cut, and coming back from the dead is blasphemous. The same bunch who attacked Highlander probably.

Why do people have to analyse and try to look for symbols and meanings and portrayal of religion in films that are probably just about a cute little alien finding its way home. Grrr.
