There is this place called k9 friends near where I live. They are having problems because they can't afford rent anymore and they are being kicked out of the warehouse they are using. This organization has helped many dogs that are in need of a home or have been treated with cruelty. I am a major dog lover but am not allowed to have one because my dad won't let no matter how much i ask...and believe me i DO ask!! anyways i need to raise some money for them otherwise all the 130 dogs are going to have be put to sleep and i really dont want that to happen to them...any suggestions?

Write a letter to the editor of your paper about their plight. Contact the newspaper and tv stations in your area and see if you can get them to do a story about it. Go to Petsmart on the internet and check out Grants. They have emergency grants available for situations like this. Also check with your local Junior League or any other philanthropic organization that might help. Google "Grants - dogs" and see if any of the grants available might fit your situation. If you do submit for a grant, follow the directiions and requirements EXACTLY! One mistake can have your request kicked out. Good luck. I manage a no-kill shelter and I know how hard it is to make ends meet.

how about a garage sale and a bake sale together . have all the ppl that work there get together a nd clean out their garages and their closets and those that cant do that have them bake something . Worked for our local animal shelter here and we raised over 1500.00 and it was great and now they hold one every year and have helped out tremendously. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

Maybe tell your local news station about it, get them involved. Everyone watches enough TV as it is, might as well get them informed and helping out pups in need!
