You're probably anaemic from not having enough iron, which you get from red meat, but as youre a veggie, spinach has loads of iron

The more important question is why are you pale? If this is a recent occurrence, it would suggest that there is an underlying health problem going on. Since you made a point of saying you were vegetarian, one thought comes to mind is that you might be anemic or be suffering from some other form of nutritional deficit due to inadequate protein intake. I would encourage you to get a health check up, including being tested for anemia. You might also want to visit a nutritionist and have him/her analyze your diet for deficient areas. At the very least, you need to be taking a good quality multivitamin.

I've looked at a lot of sites in search of one I could include. From the reading I've done, I realize that problems with skin pallor are too complicated for a single source of information to help -- other than your doctor.
Your ability to absorb B-12 may or MAY NOT be involved. And B-12 is not always well managed by a pill. It often requires B-12 injections.
While you're waiting for your appointment, there is certainly no harm in taking reasonable amounts of iron, either through diet or pills. Keep in mind you can overdoes on iron.

I'm a vegetarian too and I used to have this problem ALL the time !! It's not the best look either huh :) But don't worry there is hope. My advise is: Go to your doctor and ask for some blood tests, go and get ALL your levels checked. Iron, Zinc, B12 etc and see how they come back and then if any are low go and buy the vitamins. Just taking Iron tablets help tramadically !!
Also you can go to a dietian and work out a nutrional eating plan (if you don't think your diet is as good as you think it could be)
!!

You should get a check up to see if your anemic. Low haemoglobin from lake of iron can make you pale. This can happen if your not eating meat, you may need to take a supplement. If thats not your problem, i really dont know what to suggest. Maybe fake tan.

Most people eat to much meat.
You have the opposite problem.
You should eat a small portion of meat everyday.
I know vegetarians and they always seem to get these strange ailments nobody else are getting..

You probably became very pale because you're not eating enough protein. Try to eat more mushrooms, legumes and especially nuts, since they're loaded with protein. Tofu and soy milk are also good sources of it.

You are suffering from the lack of protein that meat gives you, but if you want you can start eating peanut butter for a snack. Peanut butter has alot of protein.

You need more iron in your diet, and possibly other vitamins also. Personally I'd try a nice rib-eye :-)
