If you're mother tongue is English, German (or Afrikaans or Dutch) will be the easiest to learn, since it is also a West-Germanic language. French, Spanish and Italian are Latin languages, so if you wish to learn three languages, I would advise you to take those three. Japanese is not an Indo-European language. It is a member of the Japonic language family, so this language should be the most difficult one to learn of all the languages you've named, because it is much less related to English than the others.

I think that German would be easiest for a native english speaker. But why do you want to learn the easiest? Learn a language that you like best, not just because it's easy. go online and listen to sample sentences of each language and see which one appeals to you the most. for me, it's Japanese. I love French too, and German rocks! I'm gonna learn Italian and German, too, so how about you pick a language that appeals to you, and if you like learning them, learn another! but i must tell you, no language is actually easy to master!

Spanish is by far the easiest to learn. It is the precursor for french and italian anyhow. Japanese has different form and function that all the other four so it is the most difficult if your language of birth is english. German is second easiest because it has many english dictions associated within it and then french and then italian. good luck, Jack

It depends on the language you're most familiar with. Choose the ones closest to your regular languages.

For me, Japanese and Spanish. Italian would be next in line, then it's French and German.
