The pre-partly cooked varieties like Aunt Bessie's are designed to be cooked on their very own, for roast spuds from scratch parboil them for 6-7 minutes, coat in a splash warm oil or fat (goose fat is fairly reliable) and optionally upload somewhat flavouring (i exploit garlic powder & dried thyme) bung in the precise of a warm oven and turn & baste each 15-20 minutes, they are going to be waiting in under an hour, extra relaxing than out of a packet and tastier too.

Maris Piper are the best if you like it really crunchy on the outside and really soft and fluffy in the middle. If you like them to be a bit more firm then use Desiree instead. And an extra tip - use goose fat to cook them if you want them to taste really special. Good luck!

The organic ones, boil them for five minutes then bash them inside the (emptied) saucepan so they go a bit fluffy, this will give them a crisp coating when you roast them in oil.
